Boca Raton, Fla., Couple Donate $1 Million to Lynn University.(Originated from Boca Raton News, Fla.)

Mar. 24--Boca Raton residents Eugene and Christine Lynn have donated $1 million to the university that bears their name.

The gift was announced Wednesday night at the Lynn University President's Council dinner. The money will go toward a beautification project that will link the academic part of the campus with the adjoining residential and student service areas.

"Eugene and Christine Lynn's dedication has always been to the Boca Raton community and the betterment of its citizens," said university president Donald Ross.

Over the years, the Lynn's have given millions of dollars to the university, but the school's administration declined to comment on the exact amount.

The couple served on the corporate board of the Boca Raton Community Hospital as well donating time to other organizations. BRCH recently was recipient of a $250,00 gift from the Lynns as a gesture of the new beginning the expanded Board of Trustees vowed to make.

In addition to his philanthropic endeavors, Eugene Lynn is a major business leader in South Florida.

"I'm only interested in what benefits this community," Lynn said in a recent interview.
